Just streamed two HD movies via DLNA and had less than 30 % loss in battery. Brightness was relatively low. Codec complexity on encoder can have impact on CPU load during movie display.

I recieved my tablet yesterday and as glorious as it is I'm pretty shocked at the battery life. I gave it a full charge and the battery went from 98% to 40% after a 2 hour film. This was with STAMINA Mode, Extended battery, etc on and with the lowest brightness level. Bluetooth, NFC and WiFI were all turned off as well. I thought it may have been some apps running in the background (Like Google+) so I disabled a few of them but it made no difference. I even tried another micro SD card since I've heard they can sometimes drain the battery. Still didn't work. My battery was dropping 1% every couple of minutes just from web browsing. I got about 3-4 hours of actual usage, from 100%, before I had to put it back on the charge at about 5%.

I know very little about batteries so I don't know if you have to give it a good run before it starts to run efficiently. It could be a naughty app but there were few services running when I checked. I did see that the display used over 65% of the battery usage but that's to be expected. I did update it at the start so I'm not sure if that made a difference, though I don't see why it should.

Anyone else have issues with the battery life?
