topic Z1 Internal Memory in XPERIA archive

I began receiving an alert that 75% of my phone memory is used. When I check the memory it shows 9GB used out of 11GB. This is a bit strange because I have not installed/dowlnoaded any massive data. When I connect my phone to the computer and check the total meory used my the folders on the internal memory it shows the Explorer indicates only 3.5GB total. I also noticed that my phone began restarting itself from time to time. Is it a virus? I have Avira installed which does not find anything wrong.

They might be some residual system update files, I'd suggest that you do a PC Companion phone repair, this will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to back up your data before you proceed.

Open PC companion -> Support zone -> Phone/tablet software update -> Repair my phone/tablet (blue link style). Follow the steps given, do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable.

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

Settings-storage,tap on cache and clear it. See how much it will free of your memory. Also, see the folder named LOST.DIR. Are there any files in it?
