Hi all I went to see Topgear live at the weekend. I recorded a few videos in 4k. After about the 3rd one I got the error up about camera over heating and would shut down if it continued to get hot, so I carried on recording until it did.

I then got the message that space was running low and would I like to transfer data to sd card, since I had a 64gb in I chose yes then closed my phone cover.

Then when I got home I went to show the missus the videos and nearly all my videos and pictures from February have gone. I've even tried a new memory card today to see if they come back. Any ideas what would cause this?

Thanks

Where were you saving the pictures? Internal storage or an SD card? it seems to me that if you were using an SD card it got corrupted.

This is a suggestion, connect your phone to a computer > access your computer > Xperia Z2 > internal storage/SD card > DCIM > 100Andro, the pictures and or videos should be there.

Cheers mate I tried that but still not there, I think it was saving to phone memory as it asked me if I wanted to transfer to memory card, I don't know how to change the default save location to be honest.

Come to the conclusion that my sd card was faulty as it kept coming up saying sd card removed unexpectedly in the weeks coming up it, since I've had the new one in it hasn't said it
