It happens with the original Sony headset. Now the telephone works = I can call - which is more important for me than listening to the music and i am not going to screw it up again by trying another set of headphones. Also for obvoius reasons discussed on this forum I do not plan to update to 5.0.2. - the telephone worked OK just two days ago so any update should not be ecessary. This is just to display my disgust with this phone and warn others. Will go back to HTC - where I never faced problems like that (dead camera, dead headphones, problems with proximity senzor - shutting of screen in use when on speaker phone) useless Album app, and many others. I do appreciate the community trying to help but SONY SW is BAD!

Headphones not recognised - I am following this thread: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Compact/Headphones-not-recognised/td-p/842451/page/4

This solition does not work for me. So far only the Soundabout app worked. Interestingly the headphones stopped working about 2 months from the time I bought this phone and I have used them quie often. They stopped working after I received a call using them.

Another problem is that the Sound about app disables the headspeaker and if I need to call (not using speaker phone) i need to uninstall it. So I can either call or listen to my music.

I will never but SONY again and will discourage all in my area. This is by far the worst mobile I had in my life as far as the firmware is concerned. Too many bugs for one phone.

I am sorry but I still need the phone - it was not cheap. Update to 5 is not an option for me. I also read our local Sony forum and the advice is NOT to update - with 4.4.4 there are a lot less problems with this model compared to the 5.0.2. I will rather sacrifice the camera + headphones but will be able to call + use my phone longer than one day on one battery charge.

No, it is the local SONY forums (not official representative) - I do not even know if this exists here. The overall agreement on local sony forum is NOT to upgrade due to multiple bugs and no actual improvement of the system. And by reading this forum I must agree. IMO Sony makes great hardware but the system (no matter what update) is lacking.

Maybe this is a misunderstanding - I never said this forum was for nothing. On the contrary it is in many cases the only source of information. I am disapponted by SONY and its product rather than by this forums.
