Sony Experia z3 compact aux problem.

I am struggling to connect my phone to my car via the aux cable, is there a solution to this problem??? Many thanks.

How many rings does the aux cable has? do you get an error?

Things to try

restart the phone

settings > apps > all > smartconnect > clear data > restart the phone

The aux cable has 2 rings was only a cheap cable from asda a few years ago has worked with all other phones some of them wasn't great quality mind.

Could be that you need a 3 ring cable or your car isn't compatible in converting 3 ring devices into 2 rings, I'm no expert but other OEM's have reported the same thing with the latest high end devices

Does it matter what car it is, it's a saab if it makes any difference. Will buy a more substantial aux cable tomorrow.

I had a similar issue with an aux cable with a Z3 but clearing the smartconnect app and restarting the phone solved the issue
