Hi!
I just recently bought the Xperia Z1 (C6903) and I have a really strange problem. Whenever I make a call or I answer one I have to wait 3-10 seconds before the ear speaker turns on. The other side can hear me perfectly, but I can’t hear them. The problem doesn’t exist when I’m using a headset. After I start hearing the other side the sound quality is perfect and there is no problem until another call. I am running official 5.0.2 ROM version 14.5.A.0.242. I didn't root, didn't unlock bootloader, just did OTA update. Any ideas?

Hi,

thanks for posting, but I am encountering an error when trying the "Repair my phone" option - I apparently cannot install the Sony Mobile Update Engine from within PCC (error 0x80070067), so I tried installing it manually, but I'm getting another error: "Access control error (inherit): Invalid filesystem path missing". I'll try doing that on my laptop and report back.

I managed to install the Update Engine (thanks to /t5/Software-Updates/sony-update-engine-could-not-be-installed-error-0x803d0020/td-p/261258/page/2), but still no luck with Repair option. I'm at work and i didn't charge my laptop, so I couldn't check if it will rok there, but I will report back tomorrow when I'll have my laptop charged.

edit: when i try to use update engine it says "error 302"

Sooo... I'm running Win 8.1 on my laptop and when I try to connect my Z1 it just keeps reconnecting over and over and over again until I unplug the USB cable. PC Companion did however let me use Repair option when i manually chose Z1 model, but then endedwith the same Error 302 which states that the Update Engine couldn't be started and maybe I should try restarting my PC. Which I did. Twice.

I am done with PCC, the compatibility mode did not help (I tried XP and 2000 with and without Service Packs). I flashed an official relase ROM using Flashtool and it seems to be working all right. I'll see tomorrow if it fixed the speaker problem.

Well... Nothing helped. I tried everything I could without compromising my warranty. I'm going to return my phone and get something else, maybe a HTC.

I might try the Z3 but it's quite pricey considering it's almost the same under the hood as a Z1.
