~~So my Z3C is updating right now to 23.1.A.1.28...~~

~~I hope it will fix the WiFi, slow most of the times,~~

Wait a minute.. my phone has already the 23.1.A.1.28... so the update is not that, what can be? May it be that Sony got wrong sending the email? Anyway.. it's still installing...

@uliwooly sorry, I was in a rush. As soon as I'll be back home I'll explain and by the way, I am confused too. Spoiler: Got an email from Sony that was inviting me to download the new software update that was supposed to be the one of the subject but if I already have that... How can it be possible?

@uliwooly well, yesterday I used the PCC to backup photos and there was no software update, today after I received the email and there was a software update waiting. I am proceeding with the setup right now.

The email say:

Xperia Z3 Compact: New software is available

There is a software update (v. 23.1.A.1.28) available for your device. Update your device's software and enjoy new features, better performance, speed and bug fixes. You can update the software today using your computer or wait until it’s available directly in your device (often within a couple of days). It's easy and no backup is needed.

This software includes:

All of our latest bug fixes and enhancements

But my Z3C has already the v. 23.1.A.1.28 so that's why I am curious... and confused!

Edit: Now that you mention it, I found also the original 23.1A.1.28 Email dated May 13.

Here are the two emails about the software update, you can see the one of May 13 and the one of Today:

... the software on my phone remain the same: 23.1A.1.28

... so what was that? O_o

Basically I got the v.23.1.A.1.28 3 times now! Honestly, only today I noticed that the version is the same... PCC recognize that it's an update and install it.. when the device boot it does the "Android is upgrading"...

And I am sure than on May 13 I noticed different things like the "Close All" button and in-call audio improvements, this time I have no idea what changed!

Today I got the 5th Software Update notification about version 23.1.A.1.28, is that normal? Am I the only one who get these notifications via email? Are regular bugfixes?

Was this ever solved? I'm running 5.0.2 (unlocked in the US) and yesterday got notice of a system update, too (OTA on phone and in PC Companion). No-one else I know has a similar notice. Is this supposed to be 5.1? I really can't tell from all the cryptic responses and directions to edited posts on this board. There's no sign of a firmware number in my Software Update app, either. A clear answer would be appreciated.

So I am not the only one.

5.1 will arrive on July but I have no idea what were the past 5 updates. Same version number however after the 5th I feel the phone smoother and many of the WiFi issues "seems" to be fixed. Anyway yes... Official statement will be appreciated.
