In one day... My Phone turning itself off randomly...
The battery was fine... Software just updated the latest one too... But, still turning itself off randomly every minute

How old is the SIM card? is it a MICRO SIM card or a trimmed SIM card?

You could boot on safe mode for few hours and see if you experience the same reboot issue

I am facing the same issue. It works only when the phone is connected to a power source. Even with 100% charge, once you disconnect the charger, it shuts down automatically. This has happened after the Lollipop update only.

Now this is where it gets super weird.......

The small pin on the micro USB port which connects to the charger broke on my phone. I had gone to the Authorized Service Center of Sony and they simply refused to touch my phone stating that since its a Z series phone which is water and dust resistant, the company does not allow them to touch those phones. Spoke on their online customer support who echoes the same thing and suggested me to send the phone to the company itself via the service center. He told me if I decide to do that, i have to pay a handling charge irrespective of whether my phone gets repaired or not.

So i decided to find another solution. I got myself a Sony Dock Charger for Xperia Z which was specifically launched for users like me whose pins have broken. Now that Dock charger does not connect to my laptop no matter what I do. As in my laptop doesn't recognize the phone when its connected.

So, PC companion is also not possible for me.

The dock is only to charge the phone, so it will never work with PCC, with that said, there isn't much to suggest here, I'm sorry.

how do i find the instruction on reinstalling lollipop through sony companion?

I'm having the same issue. Phone doesn't work unless plugged to a power source.

Sony Dock Charger cannot be used with PC, PC or laptop dont have enough volt output to induce enough charge for Dock, so you need to plug it using Sony charger.!

Exactly the same problem here.

I CAN ONLY TURN ON MY XPERIA Z LOLLIPOP ANDROID WHEN IT IS PLUGGED IN!

When I take it out of it's cradle it turns itself off after so many seconds. It cannot leave the house!

I updated my Xperia Z to 5.0.2. and now I can't take it out of the charging cradle without it turning itself off every few minutes.

Yes, I've done a reformat using PCC and there are no Google apps installed.

Yes, it is a real Micro Sim card.

Yes, I've tried turning off/on mobile data.

Yes, I've tried standing on my head, facing North, gargling salt water whilst closing my eyes and doing a cold reboot.

I shouldn't have upgraded from 4.4.2. but I trusted Sony that Lollipop would be better and bug-free!

Never again Sony, never again.

Did you expose it to water recently?

Do you get any messages to appear before it shuts down?

Did you try and check if this also happens in Safe Mode?

well i have this issue of my xperia because one week before update to lollipop it was working perfectly but i upfate to android 5.0 and one day just turned off and when i press the power button dont do anything im like 2 days with this issue and i dont what is the problem if is a battery problem or a firmware problem please help
