Yes,I have installed chromecast app,and app can find chromecast device.

My device is z4 tablet, and in

settings > Xperia Connectivity > Cast Screen

can't list my cchromecast

z2 tablet can be used normally

Hi guys,

Typing this from a brand new Z4 tablet in Australia, received it last week via grey import over eBay.

Having the same issue OP is, if we were using prototype devices, how would we tell? Apart from language on retail packaging, nothing states this tablet is anything other than genuine.

Looking forward to your replies.

Not that it helps much, but I have a UK Z4 on WiFi and just tried this and it works fine. Chromecast dvice was turned on first and then the Z4 scanned and located the device.

Just to clarify, is that using the quick launch cast (pull down fro the top)?

On my Z4 the Chromecast app works, but not the quick launch.

Yes it works using the quick launch and also from Settings->Xperia Connectivity -> Cast screen

It is really odd. How can it work for some people and no for others? Really don't want to go through the hassle of a reinstall of the firmware. Will just live with it (and the small app Widget crashing). The way it is going something else will soon 'break' and at that point it may be worth the hassle of a reinstall.
