Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues after an upgrade - This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

The reason it takes alot longer to charge from a computer or that the phone may not charge even though it shows that it's charging is that a USB-port on a computer doesn't deliver as much power as a charger.

A USB-port can normally deliver up to 500mA but depending on your computer it may be less than that (i think 100mA is minimum). Compare that with the charger that comes with the phone which can deliver 1500mA. The less power the phone gets the longer it takes to charge it.

But if it takes long to charge or that the phone consumes more power than the charger can deliver this may also be caused by the apps you have running. If you have apps running that uses alot of power it will take longer to charge the battery and then phone may even use more power than what the charger can provide. Try charging the phone in safe mode to see how it works when no 3:rd party apps are running.

Edit:

Also, i'm not so sure it will work good to charge from a PC using the docking station. There's no data support on the magnetic connector so even if your computers USB-port can deliver 500mA it might not provide more than 100mA when it can't communicate with the phone over USB.
