Is it safe to run Xperia Transfer twice?

When I first ran Xperia Transfer to transfer data from my iPhone to my new Z1C (quite a while ago), the transfer did not complete because some of the filenames on the iPhone had ":" characters in them which cannot be used in file names on the Z1C SD card.

I'm also not 100% sure whether all my TXT messages were transferred.

If I run Xperia Transfer again, will I get a lot of duplicate TXT messages and contacts, or will the software be clever about the already existing data?

It'll be easiser to sync everything with Google then sync back with your Z1 compact

Thanks, that's a good idea in general, but my old SMS messages are on an iPhone (3GS). I cannot sync those to Google, can I?
