Z1 - Water damage?

Hi everyone

i purchased the Z1 in February this year. only had the phone for 1 week.

I tried to take a picture on the top of my fish tank and firstly the phone wasnt taking out the picture.it just didnt want to click.

Then as soon as i took the phone out.It switched of and didnt come back on.The red light just kept flashing.We took it to Sony carecenter they said "Water Damage.Warranty Void'' apparently there was water on the main board.

The phoned was left in my cupboard up until last month. I put it to charge and the phone actually came on.So if they said water damage to the main board i dont understand how the phone is on.

Im assuming the damage is the LCD because i cannot touch anything on the screen but the outside buttons are working.

please, if you had the same problem, could you give me some advise as i am paying almost R600 a month for a phone that lasted me 1 week.

Z1 got soaked by sea water. Help!

Hi guys! I used my z1 to capture picture of corals. For a time it worked okay. But after a while the phone said no sd card which is weird so I immediately turned it off. At shore i looked at the flaps some water did get inside. I got my sim out and sd card. Then tried to shake off the remaining water inside the flaps. After a few hours, i turned my phone on. Then maybe less than 5 min my screen began to turn black from left to right. And was not able to turn it on since. I already buried it under uncooked rice for 3 days still the same. Tried charging. The led indicator will show then after a minute or show will turn off. If i reconnect it again same thing will happen. Tried the power button plus up button but no vibrate or anything. Any had a similar problem? Help please!

Although the Z1 its waterproof you are not supposed to sumerge it on sea water, but do contact your local Sony Xperia Care
