Phone Volume Very Low

I have had my Z1 compact since March and it is great, however I have noticed that intermittently the volume becomes very very quiet- so much so that I originally thought it had stopped working altogether. When I say the volume I mean the speaker- I can't hear my ringtone or any media that plays, I haven't yet tested the ear speaker when in a call but I presume it is fine.

At first the problem was intermittent and would solve itself after an hour or so, however yesterday morning it went off again and has not yet come back. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be going on? The phone has not been dropped, has been kept in a case since it arrived brand new and has not been exposed to any liquids (despite waterproof capabilities).

Thanks

Is that my build number? I'm pretty useless with stuff like this, but if it is then it's 14.4.A.0.108

If that's not it, then where do I find it please? Thanks

There were some issues in .757 but those were fixed.Could you try to clear data for sound enhancements under settings-apps-all and restart the device?

I can't clear data- the button is greyed out like it has already been done or I am not allowed to do that. The volume is so quiet you wouldn't know it was on. I've lost count of how many calls from work I've missed!

is your sony phone having quite often contact with liquid or water?

because volume low is normal to happen after liquid contact.

after you rinse ith clean flow tap water (of course all the cover must be tight), and you wipe dry the whole body, few minutes you will get the normal volume back.

hope this help
