Error received - Facebook videos

Hello All.
Do any Sony Xperia owners experience issues with loading videos on Facebook?

I continuously receive an error stating the following:

"Sorry, but an unknown error occurred while trying to play this video"

This is the first phone I've ever had this issue with.

After making a single snap there is a error of over heating nd camera go's to shutdown
Nd the other problem is on viewing video on facebook
After some seconds the stops
Error msg an unknw error occred.

No. No resolution as of yet. Nothing on the Web either. I could only presume it's the Facebook version for Sony. Will have to wait and see who responds to this feed

I have just replicated this in slightly different forms on two separate devices. As all other video functions for other sites such as Youtube etc appear to be working fine I can only assume that this is an error with the Facebook application and as such we may need to wait for an update to the application.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

I have just thought that. But then also thought the Facebook app runs in line with your OS. Dependant on their updates for the specific type. As we are obviously running Android that is developed for the majority of mobile devices it may not put it down too that. I've not long got my Z2 and previously owned an S4, which had no issues with running the same OS version.

Sony .. This is not the facebook app's fault, the same version of facebook works on all other android devices ,and can load 100000 videos without being obstructed. Except clearly for the Z2 wich is the only phone having this issue. Clearly this is a firmware problem SONY!! Doesnt need that much thinking, my 4 years old samsung s2 can load any facebook video!! So please work on this issue before you lose lots of customers.

I too have this problem on the xperia z can be frustrating trying to play a video over and over

Just fast forward the video a couple of seconds and it continues to play shouldn't be the way but at least you don't have to keep trying to play same vid over and over again without success. Temp solution till Sony does something.

Doesn't work for me im afraid. If I try and fast forward on from the point it last crashed. It just brings up the message and then crashes again

Hello all. I've had the Z2 since launch day and I've had this issue since. Sony doesn't want to reply via Facebook so I'll come here asking instead. When on Earth are you going to sort this problem out? I'm getting sick and tired of not being able to watch videos. Its getting to the point where i want to sling my Z2 at the nearest wall.

Also when are you going to sort the screen issue where the screen is still active when I'm taking a call? I've ended up sending garbled messages to people, changing settings, opening other apps and loads of other stuff. This isn't what i was expecting from 'phone of the year 2014'. I should have gone for the HTC M8.

Not happy.

I too am experiencing this issue. I have tried clearing data from facebook app but it does not help. I have a HTC one running CM11 with an identical version of the facebook app and that phone has no issue at all playing videos. This has to be a conflict between the sony firmware and the facebook app. Please fix asap

Once you play the video fast forward a Lil bit then it doesn't stop not from where it crashed from

Playing the video and fast forwarding does nothing, it stops and crashes at exactly the same point every time.

Where is Sonys' input in all of this? Why are they keeping quiet?

thats weird it works for me the fast forwarding once i play i fast forward past the crash point and it continues to play

Same problems with Z1 Facebook videos crash and during calls my face is interacting with the phone, I can lock the screen to stop it, but then I have to unlock and navigate to the call settings to end the call.
