As I use my car on a daily basis, the thought of having to at the start of a journey navigate through the phone settings to disable the screen sleeping and then enabling at end of my destination is counter intuitive and kills the user experience.

This is frustrating as I have owned previous (android) devices and have taken this facility for granted however I'm starting to find (software) features Sony have provided in the Z2 either not implemented or half-baked.

The "Car Mode" is a perfect example. OK it doesn't have one so as an alternative I came to the idea of using NFC, smart tags and smart connect to change my Z2 "profile" settings. I can turn on bluetooth (nice), automatically pair (sweet) and even fire up the music app ready for me to play however I cannot stop the screen from sleeping if the sat nav is not being used.

Smart tags and smart connect is a great on the Z2 but the types of events you can use is too restrictive.

Is there a car mode for the Z2 to prevent the phone from sleeping?

I know there are sat navigation apps that prevent this from happening but when I'm listening solely to music it becomes a major annoyance having to wake the Z2 up and unlock whilst behind the wheel 😕

set your screen sleep time to a time to suit you so the screen stays on while you driving
