Xperia z2 Multiple problems

Hello ,,

Recently got the z2 and have to say its brilliant when working but i have had a few problems

i got my z2 last week on contract however i had to exchange it for a new one as it just kept cutting calls constantly for no reason.

On my second z2 it was working fine however now i have a few fustrating problems:

*Call screen answer and decline swipe wont work at all on some calls form different people

*messages saying apps are crashing even though not using them such as walkman etc....

*chrome kept on saying "oops" as it kept crashing even though the websites were not really heavy (this has more or less stopped)

*when pressing camera it was just a black blank screen in the view finder so i had to keep clearing data in the app menu

*random resets when doing simple things

I am currently doing a software reset using the pc companion to see if this fixes everything which i hope it does as it is a great phone.

I basically want to know if these are hardware or software problems as if its hardware ill just try to get my handset exchanged again. im generally hoping these are just software problems due to the handset being relatively new.

i am experiencing same problem where my phone tends to restart randomly. no matter how i use my phone, it sometimes restart just like that. but today went without restart tho. u have that same issue?

Yes sounds the same as mine, i had a day without an restarts then the day after it restarted 3 times when just texting and internet browsing

Even after the reset with the pc companion i still cannot answer or decline calls using the swipe, ill have to try and exchange it. hope sony sorts this and hope my new phone works !!!

I suggest not to update using PC Companion since your phone is experiencing issues. PCC merely overwrite the latest updates. Prefer you do a full installation using Sony Update Services as it will totally reinstall the whole phone's software to the latest version in your location. It's painful but worth the effort.

yeah i did that as well. SUS right? it seems it fixed it in my case. it has been almost 2 days without restarts. i hope it stays like that.

Restarts are software issue. When some apps collide with the ones preinstalled by sony, like when we want our favorite browser rather than chrome, or different files manager then FK... When android reads a conflict it restarts the bug to prevent from data loss, but SUS should repair the bad readings from system. My first Z2 restarted often while just lieing on the desk the screen suddenly showed sony logo and vibrated. The new one doesn't have the self restarting issue, but also I haven't installed as many apps as in the first time. (no tiny flash light, no ES file explorer and office suit pro).
The phone is realy great but the camera overheating when using Effects is wierd, hope the update will solve it, as coloring the photo to nostalgia shouldn't kill the cam so quick in any way. 5 photos made in black/white and a pop up "the cam is getting hot, it will close to prevent further damage" Lol 😕

Well that a relief i thought it was hardware issue. i rly wanted to aviod sending my phone to repair, who knows how long until i get it back. It seems i repaired mine. But i think it is a bit stupid if u cannot instal so many apps. I had XZ before XZ2 and i had like 20 apps downloaded and never had that problem. I hope they are going to fix some things. Its a new phone after all.

And yeah, camera issue is so annoying. It seems everyone has that problem. Sony we count on you.

No restarts today but still cant answer or decline calls 😕 also this morning chrome kept on crashing with the oops message

Had phone swapped for a new one, working fine, hope it stays this way!!!!!!

u bought ur phone at sony center? i dont know if they gonna swap mine, i took mine on contract, and usually if u come to complain about something not working, they give you a toy phone until they repair yours. and thats crap 😕

i am glad u got a new one and that it is working well. what they told u?

Soo my phone worked fine today, and when i decided to download shazam from gp it restarted while instaling. after it powered itself on again, i tried once again and installed the app. then i wanted to go to settings and it restarted again. then i booted into safe mode and it was fine, or at least it looked like that. Why on earth this keeps happening? I cannot instal a single app for christ sake. 600 euros and i am having more problem than with mine xperia T.
