Headphones Kitkat - Sound to Speaker

Hi there,

I just upgraded to Kitkat and everything is working fine except for the following major issue.

Whenever I plugin headphones and then proceed to play any music from Google Play/Walkman, etc, the sound comes from the speaker of the phone until I unplug the headphones and plug them back in. This is quite annoying when trying to use the phone at work in a quiet environment or in a library type of setting as the music comes from the speaker initially whilst the headphones are plugged in. This didn't occur in 4.3 and I've tried a Factory Reset to no avail. I assume this is a bug introduced in Kitkat.

Looks like I'm not the only one with this bug... across a view devices. Looks like it is specific to the Apple Earbuds with Kitkat 4.4.2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=51235620&postcount=91

I don't know if this is related but what if you try

settings > apps > all > chrome > uninstall updates

I have the same problem. I have to replug the headphones again to hear music from them. Has no one a solution?

This happens to me, so I reverted back to 4.3 jelly bean. Did you try a different pair of headphones and what where the results?

If its the apple headphones then I may need to buy some other brand and finally upgrade to kitkat.
