Sony Xperia Z Power Button Malfunction

Hi Community,

so I have my Phone for 4 months now and yesterday my Phone started to open up the lockscreen randomly and showing the menu for turning the mobile device off or switching to airplane mode. I guess it has a problem with the power button. So im curious , has it ever occured to somebody or am I the only one ?

Not a power button issue - You've met the phantom touch syndrome - In this situation you have to hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds or until you feel 3 quick vibrations then start your phone and use as normal

I did this already and now the power button stopped working completely and i have to use my volume up button to unlock my phone now..

If it is not working at all then your only option is to contact Sony http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/ and enquire as to where your nearest service centre is
