Xperia Z1 camera issue

Hi there,

I've had my z1 for about a month now, and I took it underwater for the first time today and played with the camera.

I was very happy with the result, but now that I've come home I've noticed there's water vapour like in a greenhouse.

This has to be covered under warranty right?
It's clearly a faulty product that I've receiced.

How do I get it replaced/ prove that it's faulty?
(I've tried to take a photo of the vapour in the lense, but my other phone (4s) isn't very good at macro shots...)

Sorry to hear about your phone.

For further investigation and repairs i recommend that you contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/). I can't determine from here if this will be covered by warranty or not. It depends on if all covers were properly closed or not and what depth the phone was submerged to. A service location can test the phone to see if it fulfills its IP-class or not.

How do I know where to take my phone?
(I'm in Sydney)

Didn't Sony close all of its "Sony Centres" in Australia?

Here it seems you only have a store in Queensland, Victoria and Wester Aust.

For information on which service location you should contact i recommend that you contact them by chat, email or phone. Service is handled at a local level and by local support and i can unfortunately not see what service locations you have in your area from here.

hi did you manage to ge this issue fixed

i bought the z1 a few days ago. after a couple of days use i gave it light wash in the sink (all flaps firmly closed)

soon after i noticed that there was condensation on the lense causing the photos to be very blury.

everything else works well for now.

I am based in New Zealand. Im interested in seeing if you phone was repaired/replaced under warranty

Funny thing is these phones are ment to be water proof BUT the warranty from manufacturer and from your seller I.e carfone warehouse does not cover and internal damage caused by water so you have to purchase gadget insurance and then claim through that
