Xperia z1 mic problem

I have a problem with my mic while recording a voice note on whatsapp.. My voice comes with noise makes the receiver cant hear my voice and when I open any port of the three ports my voice comes clear, so whats wrong.. I reset me phone. But the problem still here

If you only have this microphone problem when using this particular application I would advise contacting the application developers directly.

After an update to android 4.3, i have the same problem on my xperia z1's microphone too! During on a call, whatsapp, wechat amd etc. My mic is not clear. Please help me!

In your case as it is a problem across the board, I would advise reloading the firmware as it looks like something went wrong during the update you ran:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

I'm having problems with my microphon too, in calls a little, using speakerphone i'm having a lot of problems in a call, in a whatsapp, in voice recorder... The sound is not clean and is too low. I already tested another 2 Xperia Z1 in Stores and sight all comes with that problem... Its possible to fix it? i already actualizated to 4.3.

My problem with the Mic is when I try to use apps like SoundHound o TrackID the message application is "We can't find a Mic available, maybe another application is using it."

When sony will stop blaming the users and fix this issue? Everybody is having it!!! Voice messages on favebook crashes the favebook app. Voice messages on whatsapp are metalized.

Hello, Ive been having this problem for a while. But I've realised that just using your headphones mic for whatsapp makes the recording clearer. I use the original Sony headphones that I got with my phone.

Anyone found solution for this? My friend been complaining that my voice sounded muffled. Need help urgently as I need to make multiple phone calls in a day for work purposes.

I have tried voice messages using Samsung S4 side by side, the voice playback on S4 is much louder than what my Z1 is giving. I already updated to latest whatsapp version

Furthermore, when i called my friends. they complained that my voice is somewhat muffled n very soft

My problem went away after i updated whatsapp and tested with my brother and some friends. The voice is very clear and loud.

I just tested after repair the phone using pc companion, still the same. So much softer as compared to samsung phone. I purposely spoke very soft on a Samsung phone n very loud on my Z1, still samsung phone wins my Z1 hands down

Yeah, the microphone is absolutely orrible. everytime i start a call the other person always complains about the low quality of my voice: low volume,statics sounds, muffled voice coming and going.

i really hope this is just a software bug and not an hardware one, otherwise it will be a supreme fail for sony (plus a lost customer)

Have you looked in settings to see if microphone noise suppression is enabled?

I write with a translator, so sorry for mistakes. Xperia z1 is designed so that it has two microphones. During a call, when your hands are full and you're holding the phone shoulder (so do all) second microphone is closed and the source can not hear anything.
When you disable the noise reduce function is necessary to completely turn off the second microphone on the backside of the device. I can not normally talk on the phone when my hands are busy.Its a developments mistake. Fix this.
