Who has .200 / 211 or .96

Just a quick message to find out who has what Official Stock Software on their phone.

I am in the UK with EE (Orange) and on .200 and I'm wondering if something is wrong with my phone since .96 has been out for over 3 months now.

Am I the only one or are there any others out there still with .200.

Who has .200

Who has .211

Who has .96

JellyBean only please. I just want to find out if I have a faulty phone or not. Sony keeps on saying it must be my operator who hasn't released it yet.

I am T-Mobile which is also part of EE and i still haven't had the latest update .96

My phone is still currently stuck on 6.2.B.200 which was the software with all the bugs. You would have thought that sony would have pushed this one through quicker since they basically ruined millions of handsets with the Buggy update they shipped out last time.

The SI number of my phone is SI 1257-3113 if that helps

T-Mobile CRO now on version.96 received a month after was released. Got .200 two months after was released.

I have also been waiting for the new firmware.(SI 1257-3114 Orange)

I am sick of all the bugs in the old one completely ruining a decent phone.

Volume up button rarely works
quick launch for camera which the phone was sold on no longer works
2g never works so have to have perfect signal to access internet
when you exit a power hungry app the whole home screen takes 5 seconds to redraw

Either Orange need a thrashing or sony.

I was a disgrunteld x10 owner as well this may well be the final straw with Sony. Please sort it out as I love the hardware, but not the buggy software.

I am in the USA and the OTA software update check on my phone for months now has been stuck at .200 (I had declined installing it and stuck with ICS due to all the reported problems).

Tonight I plugged my phone in via USB to my Mac using Sony Bridge for Mac and I was offered the new B.96 update!

I'm going to go for it, will report back on how it goes.

I bought my phone sim-free, so depend only on Sony for getting upgrades.

I got the .200 upgrade about 1 month after it was first released.

Still waiting for .96 after 7 weeks!

Anyone else (sim-free) in the UK still waiting?

I'm still waiting but I will soon give up and apply a custom rom. Sony only cares about the Xperia Z / Z1 now they already have your money

I'm still on .200 too! I'm in Austria located. Phone is only sim-locked by Hutchinson/3! Can't move to Custom-Rom because of the Lock! I'm so looking forward to a new contract to put away my Xperia!

Are you checking for updates via the phone system menu (OTA) or using the PC or Mac app via USB connection?

I was never offered anything beyond .200 OTA. Plugged into my Mac using Sony Bridge application this past week and was immediately offered the B.96 update.

After doing some research it appears to be the network providers that are the hold up.
Basically the process works like this.
Google release the android version - chip makers provide hooks to the software - manufacturers test and modify to fit their phones then release to network providers- network providers test the software and release to customers.
From what I'v. Learned the process from Google to network providers can take around 3 months but once the network gets the upgrade it can take 6 to 9 months to roll out.... If at all.

The Xperia S is over 2 years old and early adopters are getting towards the end of thier contracts, so rather than upgrade the software, the networks focus on the newer models to get people on New contracts with a new phone rather than risk that customer choosing a cheaper tariff with their existing phone or going pay as you go.

Google and Sony have done their part so we can't really get mad at those guys.

But many of us with SIM-free phones are still waiting too ....

This has nothing to do with the network providers - just that Sony is being VERY slow in getting round to some of the (older?) Xperia Ss

I'm still on .200 (4.1.2) Am I still the only one.

I have seen in other posts that Sony maybe sorting out a 4.2 build, how true is this?

I also have Xperia S on 200, I am with Orange EE in the UK.

I think this experience will put me off both orange and Sony, I have asked Orange about the update, they can't even tell me if they are working on it, let alone a release date. Now that the website has change to EE -good luck if you can find a email address for support !

2 Xperia S here, both bought SIM free, both were used on EE with T-Mobiles SIMs and both are now on GiffGaff (UK)

Both are stuck on .200 and neither can use Swype (paid for) and neither can use icon packs for Nova Launcher whicfh were also paid for. The phone always defaults to its own poor efforts removing (although not uninstalling) paid for apps in the process.

You can when they are leaving you with a bug ridden waste of £400. The best version of Android for the Xperia S was the last version of Gingerbread on it, every single "upgrade" since has been a complete mess.
