Screen unresponsive when swiping to answer phonecall and echo during calls

When someone rings me I may have to swipe the screen 7 or 8 times before it will actually answer the call and the people who are ringing me are hearing their own voice echoed back to them. I thought it might be due to the screen protector or cover I had on it but it is still happening even though I have taken those off. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks for that! Used the Update Service and updated the phone which seems to have solved the screen problem but has done nothing for the echo people are hearing when they ring me

How about settings > call settings > uncheck microphone noise suppression

this seems to work with echoes but it is not a real solution. why should i not be able to use a feature of the phone?.. the question is, do all the z1's have echo probs while on noise suppression mode (as a bug of the feature-so that i should wait for kitkat update or smt) or is it only some of the devices that have this problem (so that it needs to go the tech service).

i have z1 for a month now and there is a new problem every week... pretty annoying...
