xperia m unable to update via mobile

I have 3G connection in my new xperia m and when I tried to update my mobile firmware it says "pending network" and nothing happens.I can even stream HD videos from YouTube without lags. The same firmware was updated without any problems in one of my friends xperia m with 2G connection. Both of us are using same network operator.I'm able to update via WiFi.Does this means any issue in my mobile? How to update from my mobile?

speedtest.net and check your data connection, also go to

settings > about phone > status > signal strength

Now I'm having only 2g signal with strength -73 dBm 20 asu. Whats the meaning of pending network and why it occurs?

use high speed net via WiFi or 3g as it is just 26mb

I have updated the firmware using wifI,but why am I not able to update via Mobile. What does pending network means?why does it occur?

I have update mobile via mobile date ,if your net speed is slow and as background app use data there will be such problem

I might just have found the solution. I faced the same problem before downloading the first updates it said pending network. The reason for it was that the sim I was using was on roaming.. and when you are on roaming, you can't download your first Updates. ... then I removed the sim and tried a sim with no roaming (local sim) it started downloading. Then I stopped the download and downloaded updates via pc companion (or wifi). After installing the update, you will be able to download the rest of the updates even if you are roaming... problem solved!!

hey guys.. me too have the same problem.. lm using xpeia m.. when i try to download sony software updates (like album, Walkman) this problem of pending network come... but no problem when updating apps downloaded from play store... some times the problem gets automatically fixed... what to do now... 😞

I was also having the same problem, I tried everything including, clearing cache, data, on a 3G network even on an LTE one, took it to my network technician, all failed. I discovered that this is actually not a network problem, it's an app issue. This is caused by the background data app restrictions settings. Some apps (esp. Google apps) depend on each other to function properly when they're being updated. So you need to unblock/unrestrict ALL the apps (yes, including the ones you're not updating). And the fastes way to do that is to follow these 5 easy steps:
Go to --> Settings >>> Apps >>> Menu (the 3 block-like dots on the top right corner), a drop-down menu pops >>> Select "Reset app preferences", a pop-up block will appear with a warning >>> Select "Reset apps".
...
Do all the updates you need to do
...then go back to your Data Usage Settings to restrict the apps you wanna restrict.
