Hello,

Hoping someone can help me. I have my Sony Xperia S for one year now but lately it's very slow. It takes a few seconds for screens to load, 5 second delay between pressing call and the call being placed etc..

I have got a warning on my phone about Low Device Memory.

I went into the storage settings and saw My Device Memory is 4/5 full with Apps (data and media content) taking up 1.38gb

The internal storage is only 1/5 full.

Is the low device memory making my phone slow. What can I do? Can I move stuff from the device memory to internal storage? Anything, I should clean up?

Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your reply.

I went into Apps Running and it says 577mb of RAM used and 118MB free.

Device Memory is at 1.8gb used and 206mb free.

I'm also getting messages of Insufficent Storage Available when apps try to update. I have about 50 apps installed on my phone.

Thanks again

Try Factory reset option to completely wipe of all the data. Before doing that take backup. It really helped me. Initially i had the same problem, Now after factory reset its back to normal.

This means that your phone has many apps running in the background and they are consuming a lot of memory (RAM under running apps). You can install Advanced Task Killer from Google Play Store which will help you to kill unused apps by scheduling it.

Second option is go to Setting -> Developer Options -> Apps and enable the check box "Don't keep activities" which may again help you to kill irrelevant apps not in use.

Please confirm once your issue has been resolved.
