Driver problem

Hi every one I have an xperia p and i am having problems updating it,it says on my phone that I have an update and I need PC companion to update it.I did everything it says I downloaded the update however when I get my phone ready by pressing the lower volume button I get an error on my PC about driver and that's it then I cant do anything about it pls help.

Try to reinstall PC Companion on your PC. Try to connect the phone to another USB port.

Also you can try with Update Service instead:

Thank you Alexander for replying,but unfortunately my problem wasn't solved.I tried reinstalling pc companion and I tried installing the update service.Everything runs smoothly until the part I have to prepare my phone by simultaneously pressing the lower volume key and inserting the usb cable in my phone.I get the error message that the driver has been located but a problem occurred while installing it.I am using windows Vista,I was wondering would it make a difference if I try this on Windows xp. Any way thanks for the help I will be waiting for a reply

re-install JAVA (google JAVA download) also install SUS > restart your PC > disable your firewall and antivirus > run SUS > connect your phone on flashmode (turn off your phone > press and hold volume down THEN connect the USB cable do NOT release the volume key, your PC should download the required drivers)

who can help me with problem on a xperi lt 26i not recognise the computer as data storage,please help
