Mine shows "Streaming error" for both Mobile Data and Wi-Fi connections. It used to work before, but i think after the update, it's no longer working. Can somebody shed light on this issue? It happens when you have to stream videos and the device asks you which application to use. I always choose "Video" which i always use for streaming online videos but now it's no longer working.

andriod 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.A.0.58

Flash version... Lastest.

Apps with push notifcations... All disabled... well, i stopped auto snyc.

Internet speed: 20mb/s Unlimited (Sky)

Wifi speed: 14mb/s (using speedtest.net's app)

Other devices using wifi? none.

Distance: within 5 metres

Connection strength 2/3 mostly 3 (3/4 if you include the circle)

While using the Default browser, almost every video i try to watchquite simply doesn't.

Either, it doesn't even start playing, or it plays and has to buffer every few seconds, or it plays... then crashs... etc...

Other Browsers? Depends... I don't really want to have to keep jumping around different apps, so i would like a nice... alround browser. (other than playing games)

but, if you can only recommend a good browser for playing videos... then sure.

Note- i have used Opera, Firefox & Dolphin... none work well.

I also get the error "cannot play video" or whatever it is, sometimes as well.

Solutuons?

Thanks,

Jackjt8

Do the streaming work well using 3G since the topic says streaming on Wi-Fi?

If yes it's probably some settings in the router that needs to be looked at. Perhaps check that the RTSP ports are open.

I don't use 3G.

As for the router... RTSP ports should be open, if i'm not mistaken, RTSP is port 554 on udp/tcp?

i have ports 1-9999 tcp/udp open. (just because it's easier to work with) and the firewall is set to allow all of this.

It's a netgear DG834GT

If you have any other ideas.
