If not, how can I fix this issue? Does it require to return the phone for repair?

Regards

It's not possible to run any calibration on the accelerometer in the phone so I suggest that you try running a software repair via PC Companion.

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

But if problem remains after software repair you'll need to have the phone checked at an repair center, in that case contact your local support team.

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/contact-info/

Thank you for your feedback. After further investigation, the gyroscope is working fine, the value constantly changing in service menu seems to be normal, the accelerometer does the same and works just fine, and the behavior of testing apps, particularly one having a cube in 3D turning constantly seems to be the normal behavior as I checked on other devices and the cube is reacting correctly to my movements (inclining itself ont he right directions).

THe problem seems to only be with Nova 2 game from Gameloft, don't know why, but seems to be an issue with Nova 2 and the Xperia S (and supposedly maybe some other phones). I'll report it to Gameloft so they can have a look at it, of course, you can also contact them about this issue, that could help solving it.

Hello.. I have same issue with my Sony Xperia Z. My gyroscope constantly rotates either left or right. I am using Google VR Cardboard and is completely useless for me. I had tried to Factory Reset but it didnt worked at all. I would be very pleased if anyone could solve my issue. Thanks.
