Hello,

I have the blue&me system in my car (Fiat Bravo). It worked just fine with my ray on GB 2.3.4. My phone paired with blue&me without problem.

Since I updated to ICS, my ray doesn't pairing with the blue&me. It's trying but nothing happens. The keyboard doesn't appear to enter the pin code.

The blue&me is up to date and for my ray, I format the sd card before update. The bluetooth on my ray works, I connect it to other device without problem. Same thing for blue&me who still working with my phone's wife.

Have u any explanation (not including that blue&me sucks, I already know it )

Is there any article on difference of bluetooth between GB and ICS ?

Thanks,

PS ICS is working just fine on my ray, I have difficulties to understand some excessive reactions...

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds to me like a typical case of incompatibility. Since the phone's Bluetooth is working with other stuff and this started after you updated, it's most likely down to your car system not supporting the software in your phone.

It's unfortunately pretty common that the update pace for phones outruns the update pace for software used in Bluetooth car systems.

Now, I don't know if it's as simple as your car system not supporting ICS at all or if it's just our software version that's not supported. Do you know if ICS is supposed to be supported?

What do you think about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Can I modify them ?

Hi Markus,

That looks like a slightly lazy answer, just to reply that the devices are incompatible

As Harry_Bo (and ply1740, below) explains, Bluetooth is a standard, albeit an old and somewhat lumpy one

I have had the same issue pairing my Ray with my 3 month old Opel (GM / Vauhall) - a model released more recently than ICS, so unlikely to be incompatible I would have thought

The connection worked better than any link between Bluetooth devices I've ever used before on Gingerbread (I've never had good experiences with Bluetooth in the past) until upgrading to ICS last night

Just spent a frustrating half hour trying to link the phone to the car - fruitless

My tablet, running on ICS pairs with the car audio system just fine, leading me to think that the problem is unlikely to lie with the car's compatibility with ICS and rather more likely to be an issue with the BT implementation in this Sony ICS upgrade

I'm gonna scour XDA developers and will report back if there's a hack anywhere to sort this

Meanwhile if anyone else has any suggestions I'd be really grateful to hear them

Cheers

btw, I'm new to this forum - is there any way of changing the "assumed answered" flag, since this ain't

And it is still working with it.

But after upgrade to ICS she (same as me) is no more able to do a new pairing(!) to Blue and Me Carsystem.

The Mobile's Firmware show's Build: 4.1.A.0.562 now - Android 4.0.3 (Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf)

To make sure, that it is no kompatibility Problem to Android 4.0.3 (Kernel: 2.6.39.4+)I did pair my Tablet (Acer Iconia A200) with my Blue & Me Carsystem without any problem.

So I would assume, that there may be a little problem with with Bluetooth stack or driver for the ST18.

Hoping for an Hotfix

Regards, Bernhard

This works with ICS, tested with the PC.

Other devices, often older or cheap, require password entry. This works, tested with a bluetooth mouse.

Others require code generation. Again this case xperia with ICS works, tested with bluetooth keyboard.

The Blue & Me seems to be a hybrid, the phone is ready to receive the code but do not get because this has to be entered manually. The main problem should reside in the handsfree, but also ICS has a bug, because after some time would still require the manual entry of the code, which is still the standard method.

The Workaround:

1) Turn on bluetooth on your smartphone and open a contact card.

2) Start the pairing of hands-free of the car.

3) When the blue & me asks for the code, send the contact via Bluetooth: The phone searches for other devices. Selecting "Blue & Me", you have the opportunity to enter the code presented on the dashboard.

4) Now Blue & Me will ask you to copy the address book: Select "Yes".

5) In the notification bar of smartphone is prompted to connect bluetooth: select "do not ask for more" and accept the request.

Now the blue & me work like with gingerbread.

Sorry for the bad English, administrators should feel free to correct mistakes and to notify the temporary solution to people who need them.

Of course it would be a welcome a patch on firmware, it probably will not work in all cases.

The method is tested on an Alfa Romeo 147 with "blue & me nav" and a Xperia Neo (mt15i), Android 4.04."

I just tested on Ray with 4.0.4, and Fiat 500 Blue&Me - works.

Dear Rayer,

I especially opened an account here to tell you thta we are erecting a statue on your honor in "Fiat 500 Blue & Me Town"

Once I looked at your solution it's seems obvious but I must say: respect, this wouldn't have come to my mind...

I bought a XPeria Ray for my wife and she drives a 4 year old Fiat 500 (one of the first in France). You can imagine her reaction when I told her that, for the moment :smileyconfused:..., her Hands-Free wasn't working....

Many thanks!

Your work around worked for my Xperia (1st gen, android 4.3) and my Fiat 500, with blue&me. It aways showed connectoed but never really was. I unpaired then followed your steps. Worked like a charm! Thank you so very much!
