Can't update applications in the Google Play store

Phone is XA1

Android is Oreo (updated)

Wifi connection OK

My issue is with Google Play Store, it will not update apps!

This has been going on for some time now, I have over 60 apps needing updates!

First of all it does allow some apps to update (eg. Facebook)

But then problems set in

I noticed files that fail download too much (eg. whilst auto downloading BBC iPlayer, 4.3MB it downloaded 22MB!)

It will then fail to install, sending notification, then stop, not moving to the next app

Manual download is no better, still pending download

I did what the error box suggested, went to settings > Apps > App info > Google Play Store, cleared cache, cleared data, reset phone

to no avail!

Is this a widespread issue? or just me?

how much free internal storage does your phone has?

have you moved the apps to the SD card?
