Based on what I read, Sony xperia xa ultra water proof proof dropped my unit into a pool, it did not work, so much disappointed with the Internet says.

I don't know where you read it but it hasn't been advertised as water resistant nor waterproof phone.

After it got wet.

Did you switch it off immediately and put it in a bowl with rice?

Leave it there for at least 24 hours.

That's the best change of returning a wet device back to life.
