when i bought the phone new, if i covered the proximity sensor the screen turns off, if i uncover the screen turns on, this is great when in a case, i dont have to press the power button to turn on the screen, well it stopped working, and also stopped working when in a call and when my cheek touches the screen many things start happening.

Sony says its on for use in a call, this is rubbish, i bought this phone for use in case and for not having to press power button all the time, sony says i am wrong?? well i used it for 8 month then it stopped working, sent phone in and came back untouched, anyone know what i am on about? any suggestions?
