Expanding the screen when watching movies.

I have a KD-55AF8 and i am trying to epand the screen when watching a movie on Netfix with no luck, Every tv i have owned had this feature but this one with all its technology doesnt seem to have it.

Anyone got any ideas please,

Also since updating the software i can only connect to the net wirelessly it will not find the ethernet cable????????

Hi @ushert If it is available you can change the aspect ratio by selecting Wide mode from pressing [Action Menu] on your remote.

Its not available when watching netflix via hdmi.

which i find hard to believe this day and age.

Hi @ushert If you are watching Netflix via hdmi then change the picture resolution on the Netflix device to 1080i. The Wide mode should be available for all picture resolutions apart from 2160p.

It may be worth mentioning that any true film streamed in UHD (2160p) shouldn’t need its aspect ratio altering as it should come complete with black bars top and bottom or left and right so as not to distort the picture.

I watch Netflix through the tv so cannot even do that.
