49xe8396 picture settings and apps problems

I am trying to find optimum picture settings for my new tv. Can anyone help?

Also, when I try to access apps built into the tv such as iPlayer, itv etc none of them work however all have up to date schedules? Can anyone help resolving this problem? As said before it’s a brand new tv with good fibre broadband signal.
